All students entering the Sixth Form will study at least four A-level subjects.
Students are permitted to reduce their programme to three A-levels following the publication of Lower Sixth internal examination results in June. In most cases, the subject discontinued will be the subject in which the student has achieved the lowest grade. At this stage, students may not reduce their programme to three subjects where two of the remaining subjects are mathematics and further mathematics.
Students may request to reduce their programme to three A Levels including mathematics and further mathematics after submitting their UCAS application and receiving university offers. Students must provide written confirmation from both their intended firm and insurance universities that studying only mathematics, further mathematics, and one other A Level will not prejudice their offers. Normally, the subject with the lowest grade will be the one discontinued.
The final decision regarding any reduction in subjects rests with the school.
Information about our A Level subjects can be found by following the relevant links. Please note that there are no videos available for the EPQ, but we will be very happy to speak to you about this subject at our open evening event.
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact our Director of Sixth Form, Mr. Croft at jcroft@wcgschool.co.uk.
